Lorna + Matt, King’s College, CambridgeWedding

Lorna and Matt's journey to their wedding day was certainly a testament to resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges. Despite the setbacks caused by the Covid pandemic and venue changes, their commitment to each other prevailed, resulting in a beautiful celebration in the heart of Cambridge.

The decision to keep their ceremony at Little St Mary's Church allowed for a beautiful ceremony which was followed by a reception in the magnificent Great Hall at King's College. Walking their guests from the church to the College added a charming touch, allowing everyone to enjoy the picturesque surroundings of Cambridge and the congratulations shouted out by Saturday shoppers!

The inclusion of Matt's family and distant guests via Zoom from Australia was a thoughtful gesture, ensuring that they could be part of the festivities despite the distance. Matt's opening speech, welcoming everyone to "Lorna's Garden," was a touching moment, symbolizing the union of their lives and the planning of a wedding that changed shape multiple times during the planning journey … going from minimalist to large on the florals!

Transforming the Great Hall to accommodate a smaller guest list while maintaining an intimate atmosphere was a creative feat. We came up with a design to divide the space with a wildflower meadow and woodland which not only added visual interest but also created a sense of coziness within the vast hall and was the perfect spot for sipping cocktails post dinner. The candlelit dinner featured seven courses paired with matching wines.
